VR air guitar is coming to Unplugged in the fall

Unplugged, a virtual reality air guitar game that is set to launch this year, was updated at the Upload VR Showcase on Saturday.

Unplugged lets you play a guitar in VR with no gloves or special controls; it uses hand tracking technology.

If you nail your virtual chords and strums, you’ll earn points. Follow the notes that roll in your direction to see where to “strum” and earn points. The presentation looks pretty good. (And speaking of Guitar Hero, the series’ former lead guitarist Marcus Henderson is helping to develop the game.)

Otherway announced that The Offspring would be included in Unplugged’s official soundtrack in Saturday’s trailer, adding that there will also be powerups, minigames, and more.

Unplugged will be available for Oculus Quest and Steam VR headsets this fall.
