Twitter while walking back controversial changes that made it difficult for people to preserve deleted tweets. On Wednesday, Kevin’s writer pointed out that the company recently tweaked javascript which was embedded so that the deleted tweet text was no longer visible on third-party websites.
At the end of Friday night, however, one Twitter user watched the company return, with company confirming steps one day later. “After considering the feedback we heard, we rolled back this change for now while we explored a variety of choices,” The company spokesman told the Verge. “We appreciate those who share their point of view – your feedback helps us make Twitter better.”
When the initial change was first seen, Eleanor Harding’s company product manager said the company made tweaks to “better respect” those who decided to remove their tweets.
Part of what makes the steps in trouble for many people is that it only leaves the empty space where the tweet was deleted before. Harding said Twitter planned to launch additional messaging that would explain why tweets were no longer visible.
Twitter does not describe the “different option” it is exploring after its reversal. For many people, the decision to change how embeds work is strange. When Twitter first introduced embedding in 2011, he deliberately wanted to maintain the tweet text deleted. And for years thereafter, company executives, including former CEO Jack Dorsey, emphasized the role of the platform as a kind of “public record.”
The latest Twitter board members and the largest stakeholder Elon Musk Tweet, Saturday to ask whether the social media network is “dying” and to call users like singer Justin Bieber, which is rarely forced.
“Most of these ‘top’ accounts are rare and posted very little content,” Tesla Boss wrote, imagining a list of 10 profiles with the most followers – lists that cover themselves in number eight, with 81 million followers.
“Is Twitter Dying?” He wrote.
Former US President Barack Obama appeared at the top with 131 million followers, followed by stars such as Bieber, Katy Perry, Rihanna, and Taylor Swift, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Cristiano Ronaldo football star, among others.
“For example, @ Taylorswift13 hasn’t posted anything in 3 months,” continued Musk.
