In the upcoming free update for Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which will optimize the game for next-generation consoles, CD Projekt Red and Netflix will offer original content influenced by the Netflix show, the publishers announced on Friday at WitcherCon.
During the Friday WitcherCon stream, CD Projekt Red‘s Philipp Weber teased us with some specifics about what the DLC might look like: “I can imagine that maybe you’ll be able to wear Geralt’s armor from Netflix,” he said.

As of September 20, 2020, the studio announced it would release a next-generation update for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, promising “a range of visual and technical improvements” including ray tracing and faster loading times. According to CD Projekt Red, the update affects “the base game, both expansions, and all add-on content”.
During WitcherCon, Netflix also announced that the second season of the show would premiere on December 17th and an animated prequel titled Nightmare of the Wolf would debut on August 23.
