Original Oculus Quest– Air Link, a wireless connection between a PC and a headset, is available to Oculus Quest 2 owners since a few months ago. Now Original Oculus Quest owners will have the option to stream wirelessly from their PCs to their headsets.
Mark Zuckerberg announced that Air Link would be coming “soon” in the Quest update, when the original announcement of the feature asked when the first-gen headset would get it (or if it would at all).
His post also illustrates how you can multitask using multiple windows in Oculus Home, which is a virtual environment. He opens three windows simultaneously, creating the same effect as if he were sitting in front of three curved monitors
According to UploadVR, the v30 release will also bring a larger play area, with the Guardian system now able to handle 15m by 15m boundary lines, or 2,400 square feet.
Facebook has not yet announced when the V30 update will be released. If contacted for comment about the release date, the company said it had no additional information and declined to comment on whether Air Link for the original Oculus Quest would be part of v30 or a future update.
