The legendary video game developers behind Sierra On-Line, Ken and Roberta Williams haven’t released anything new in over two decades.
In the near future, they will release a new game that they have been working on with 3D artist Marcus Maximus Mera. Currently, the game is called The Secret, but that’s just a preliminary name that could change. There is a website that provides details about what’s going on behind the scenes, but it does not provide details about the game itself.
There isn’t much information available about the game as of yet, but it’s a Sierra-inspired single-player title in the same vein as King’s Quest and Leisure Suit Larry.
Based on that information, it will likely be another adventure game. Stunning 3D graphics will contribute to this game’s appeal to modern audiences as well.
He said Roberta has been barely involved so far, but as they get closer to releasing the game, Roberta will be more involved.
In addition to King’s Quest and its sequels, Roberta has written the graphic adventure games Sierra is known for, which include Phantasmagoria and King’s Quest. She is often referred to as the “Queen of Graphic Adventures.”
A beta test for The Secret is expected to begin in August. The game has been in development for the past six months. In the dream of releasing the game by November, the team admits it’s not realistic, especially since placeholder graphics are still available.
They promise to release more details, demos, and screenshots at a later date, but fans may have to wait longer than five months to play the game.
