Facebook has launched a series of new features for its portal device series, such as Messenger Rooms and custom backgrounds, all of which are designed to improve your calling and entertainment experience.
Some new features are also similar to those already provided in competitor apps such as Zoom. You need to know all about the new features of Portal.
Messenger Rooms was technically announced last month, but it is now available. They are essentially video group calls of up to 50 people.
Custom background Now
When making a Portal Messenger or Messenger Room call, you can blur the background or replace it with a pre-selected image.
Go online or Live
You can go to Facebook pages and groups “from the portal” in real-time. Previously, the Facebook Live application on Portal allowed you to broadcast to your profile. This feature has been expanded to now include your pages and groups.
Photography operations and AR effects
Now you can use the Portal mobile app to share photos from your phone during Messenger calls. Facebook also provides things to do during your call; you can send an AR virtual card or enjoy a new Story Time story.
When can you try new Portal features? Facebook said the updates will take effect on June 16, 2020.
