Microsoft releases final preview of Windows 10 October update
The Windows 10 20H2 update will arrive next month, which contains some new features, such as a visually refreshed “Start” menu, improved notifications, pre-installed Chromium Edge browser, and the ability to Alt + Tab through the Edge tab. As Microsoft phases out older system tools, it also introduces more functions in the “Control Panel” into the modern “Settings” page.
They have been testing for Insiders for the past few months, but a post on the Windows Blog shows that the update being rolled out now represents the final version they expect.
Things should be fairly stable, but the Windows subsystem for Linux users will have to check the description of known issues.
If you want to try it first, even if you are in the Insider program of the Release Preview channel, you need to enter the Windows Update panel and choose to install the build 1942.508 (KB4571756) to find it. If you are in a beta channel, it should automatically contact you.
