Huawei P40 series has officially debuted and began accepting reservations online. For the display vendors that many people are concerned about, the information such as the 3D face unlock function now also has the exact answer.
According to netizens citing Huawei’s published source code information, the Huawei P40 Standard Edition will be a BOE display, while the Huawei P40 Pro’s 90Hz quad curved screen will be supplied by BOE, LG, and Samsung.
At the same time, both models support infrared face unlocking. Currently, the number of reservations made at Jingdong Mall has encountered Waterloo, far less than the Huawei P30 series that was booked in the same period last year.
BOE Screen Display
The suppliers of display screens equipped with Huawei’s new machines have always been the focus of everyone’s attention, and the latest debut of the Huawei P40 series is no exception.
According to netizens citing Huawei’s source code information disclosure, the Huawei P40 Standard Edition codenamed “ANA” will be exclusively supplied by BOE, while the 90Hz refresh rate quad-curved screen of Huawei P40 Pro codenamed “ELS” will be BOE LG and Samsung mix, so there will be a “draw” situation.
Regarding whether the dual-hole front camera of the Huawei P40 series has a 3D face unlock function, Huawei ‘s official information is that “the depth of field camera also supports infrared unlock function”, so there is no front 3D depth equipped with Huawei Mate 30 Pro Sensing the lens.
This will be slightly inferior in terms of security. In addition, the Huawei P40 series does not use a dual-speaker design. The memory is still LPDDX4, which will disappoint some users.
Pre-order quantity is not as good as P30 series
After the launch of the Huawei P40 series overseas, it also started an appointment for a deposit of 100 yuan at the Jingdong Mall. However, from the number of reservations of the two models before the press release, the performance was not as good as last year’s Huawei P30 series, and even Huawei P40 standard.
As long as the reservation is only 1,211 units, this may be related to the aircraft’s shrinking configuration. And even the more popular Huawei P40 Pro has only 17,650 pre-orders, which is far from the score of nearly 60,000 when Huawei P30 Pro was booked last year.
The Huawei P40 series will also announce the price of the National Bank version on April 8. If the price is more grounded, I believe that sales performance will be greatly improved. As for the Huawei P40 Pro +, which enjoys an exclusive 10x optical zoom function, it will not be sold until June, so it will also affect the number of reservations for this series of models to a certain extent.
