In recent years, Alphabet’s Access department has abandoned Fiber’s 100 Mbps plan and traditional TVs to simplify products for new customers.
Google Fiber announced today that it will begin testing 2 Gigabit plans next month. This growth is said to be aimed at “customers in Internet-intensive households.
Who may need more gigs to do their thing, no matter what it maybe.” A monthly charge of $100 includes 2-gigabit downloads and 1-gigabit uploads. Only 30 dollars are higher than the existing gigabit plan.

The Google Fiber network has been carefully designed and has enough capacity to allow our customers to use suitable home hardware to reach 2 Gig (or even faster) speeds. Our approach to network design allows us to keep our customers as fast as possible.
The product will be available in Nashville, Tennessee, and Huntsville, Alabama next month. After the preview period, “later this year” will be open to all customers in these two cities in the USA.
Tests will be conducted in other cities starting this fall and will be tested in “most” Google Fiber and Google Fiber Webpass cities in early 2021. Fiber is currently available in 19 cities.
Game changers, super users, and families who need more Internet resources can join the Google Fiber Trusted Tester program and become one of the first to use extra speed.
