AdBlock glitch blanks out content on Twitter, Wikipedia, Amazon, and other sites


Check to see if you are using AdBlock or Plus if the internet has appeared a little empty to you in the past few days. Some users have reported having their content accidentally deleted from major mainstream sites because of ad blockers.

AdBlock Glitch blacks out Content on Twitter

The exact cause of the problem is unknown, but An AdBlock glitch has wiped out content on Twitter, Wikipedia, Amazon, and other websites. If the issue persists, you can either hold on to the filter list until it is updated, or go into settings and request an update. 

Providing no details regarding what the exact problem was, Plus support confirmed that the issue “had already been resolved” in an email. Ads Plus blocked content tagged as “media” following a recent change in filtering, which worked for another blocker.

No public statement has been made by Plus or its owners eyeo GmbH, but it appears the issue was only temporary.
